I highly recommend zsCompare for anyone in software development, multimedia or other creative areas. zsCompare has proven to be an invaluable too for use in Audio production to determine which files have been copied to external drives for archival. It really gives me piece of mind to know that when I have archived something, that it will be there when i need it again. The duplicate hunter is amazing for reducing clutter on my hard drive. Doing multimedia production, sometimes double files can really hog up disk space, so this tool keeps everything in check when used properly. zsCompare's easy to use interface with color coding makes sync ups a breeze. Over the past 3 months, I've searched for a good folder and file comparison tool, looking through multiple shareware websites at dozens and dozens of offerings. From those lists, I've installed and removed 5 or 6 programs.

My comparison tool of choice? zsCompare.

zsCompare has the features and speed I need to compare and synchronize multiple layers of directories and hundreds of files. With their latest release of 2.20, file comparison speed increased by orders of magnitude so it's significantly faster than a better-known competitor (BeyondCompare).

I'm a professional programmer, so I often need to compare little snippets of code that aren't in files. zsCompare's Freeform Text comparison window saves me time, since I don't have to save those snippets to text files in order to compare them - a feature missing in the other utilities I tested.

zsCompare's Duplicates Hunter feature is also unique. If you've ever had to find multiple copies of a file between two deep directory trees, you'll really appreciate it.

The bottom line: I sometimes do a dozen file and folder comparisons a day. It's clear to me that zsCompare's performance, features and ease of use save me time and make me more productive.
